They should eat sausages. They're missing out.

Religion isn't meant to make sense, it's meant to sound ridiculous and have absurdly strict rules to test your faith I think.
Personally, I think joining a religion isn't all that clever.
thats true, i was never going to drink...
yeh & this decision is something you shouldnt take lightly. you must research it thoroughly before converting.
it was written in the Quran that Muhammad is the last prophet. so there isn't another one.Originally Posted by DiscoPat

it's not hard to find a Quran with english translations. i have one of those, actually. it's quite hard to understand though, as it uses 'old english', with all those 'thy' 'thou 'thee' things.
we can eat sausages, but not those that come from pigs.Originally Posted by Kieeran

So true man, I totally agree I'm not a part of any religion at all I believe the scientific creation of the Earth and man kind, It seems more true then a man sharing some bread and fish around....Because it's a load of untrue staries written by different people and thrown together in a book. Religion is opinion imo (contradiction or what lol). Ok, so there maybe evidence that these people actually lived, but there is nothing to actually prove the "spectacular" and "imposible" things that somebody with an imagination claims happened. Flame me if you wish. I know a lot of people get a lot of pleasure out of religion, but it's all B.S. imo. You could even call football a religion. Who's to stop you? Hard core fans act in similar ways to people who swear by their religions.
nobody can answer that, and tbh if life was just a journey to heaven that would be pretty crappy.
then what would be the point of life in heaven? what would be the goal there?
you don't need to have some major aspiration in life for it to have a point, in my opinion the point of life is to live and enjoy it. not to spend it devoted to some ****** idea some ****** thought up centuries ago.
- the goal in heaven is to spend life with god
- if i guessed right at them censored words how dare you and so what if its made up centuries ago its a religion go look it up...
Im sure it wouldnt be too hard to get hold of a english translation.
AgreedRead the book, i you agree with it, why not join up. Although, if u do agree with it, id also suggest haveing your head examined, its slighly better than the bible in getting past the first 3 words without contracdiction, but seriosly, ive yet to see a religion with a holytext that makes a lick of sence.
In fairness though, religion and rationalty by definition dont really go together, you cant have faith about facts.

Intelligent design is, technically, a scientific reason. Creationism is just as valid as the "big bang". What religions say might not and probably won't be though.
No, ID claimed to be a scientific reason, its not because the science is all wrong. The claim was they found irriducable complexity.. when the scientific community actuly reviewed the evedence, this turned out not to be the case, its was in fact very reducable hence fitting with evolution.
The experiment was actually done on the tail of some cell (i forget its name) although for simplicity's sake its useualy quoted as being an eye.
So unlike religions normal method, read conclusion in old book, ignore any conflicting evidence.
They used a different method, read conclusion in old book, try to find an experiment that backed it up, when unable to find evidence, make up some and pretend thats what the experiment shows.
ID/creationism are NOT science by definition.
