The human race lived through the lass crossing of the galactic equator. If scientists even believed that something would happen, they would have addressed it.

There are 'four' generations of humans, and we are the last.
On 21st 12 2012, the planets will align up, something that happens every 25,000 years..

It occurs every 13,000 years according to some websites, others I see 26,000 years . We've lived through the recent crossings though.
