I want to make it so IPs are hidden yet can still be used if you get what I mean. So say for instance a member of the authorities wishes for someone's IP then we can still give it to them. The way I want IP banning to work is that there is just a button and the system does it for the staff so there is no seeing of the IP.

Although these days an IP is basically useless information.

I think obviously the respected owners ie you and dentafrice should have access to view IP's only for banning rights and as you stated if authorities need the information. Staff however should not be able to see this information as it is not needed for them to do their job.

An NDA shouldn't be needed. Aslong as it states in the privacy policy what you will/will not do, that should be fine.
