Its because games are SO overhyped, and as the current-gen consoles can handle (or should handle) such games very well, people expect them to be absolutely amazing. Don't get me wrong, they're good games, but they all had more potential. A perfect example is GTA. With IGN giving its first 10/10 in however long, and it getting almost perfect reviews people hoped for SO MUCH MORE than what there is really.
Halo 3.
Fifa 08.
Dead Rising.
GTA only dissapointed on a few things.
Army of two was still alright inspite of it being a bit short
Can't comment on others!
Army of TWO - like 10 missions, what the hell? And the fact that you HAVE to control that stupid AI. I preferred 2 player co-op on it tbh. But it was far too short.
Yes, but GTA's hype has been around for months.
The main storyline is 30hours, they expect you to do it in less. Just not enough for all the hype surrounding this game, IMO. Its easy to see the online play, and alternative storylines were last minute bodge jobs, after they put all the effort in.
Not enough replayability. VC and SA I played again and again, IV will enter the cupboard in the not so distant future.
Megaman Legends
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING
The problem is that hype kills game enjoyment. Going into GTA4 on a media blackout and lowered expecations led me to enjoy it a lot more than I usually would.Yes, but GTA's hype has been around for months.

Seriously.
It's not even out yet and I'd say Guitar hero 4 is going to be a pretty big let down, they're ruining it now![]()
