I have the choice between 16GB or 32GB of ram, what is ram over 8GB good for..? It's DDR2

Mate, Microsoft Os have not beg desgined for over 4 gb of ram :/
so having 32 gb would wasts money and time, because te os would only ever use over 4/8 gb of ram.

Actually only 2GB is needed.. 4GB is either needed when

1. You just want to make sure.
2. You don't need 4GB but you just want your PC specs to sound c00l (like me)

Vista home premium X64 can has a limit of 8GB RAM.

Also Vista Ultimate/Business/Enterprise can all go past 128GB Stephen

Unless you're using a 64-bit OS and doing RAM intensive tasks, it is pointless to buy any more than 4GB in my opinion.
