Right, time to clear up a few things, I know the full story inside and out, external and internal so:

Primark cut out the middle man to keep in contact with the manufacturers directly.

Three Manufacturers (probably more out there), were caught out by Panorama for sub-contracting from outside the factories. There is no actual organisation or count of stock in the factories which are made, the manufacturers simply cover up the figures and ship out the orders, no questions asked. Questions will obviously be asked now.

Primark do not employ children under 14 (unless Local government allows, which lowers it to 13 years of age)

New Look, Gap, H&M and other highstreet names you might be familiar with also use these factories, they are definetly under the gun but they're not being targeted due to that they're not a success story, like Primark. Primark is turning over more and more profit because of the way they buy in bulk, which keeps it cheap due to the value of mass economies. No-one employs children, the factories did which are not employed by Primark, they are contracted to make the clothing. The factories are completely seperate companies.

Most Primark clothes are similiar to more expensive brands

Why do you think people call it cheaper? Because you can get similiar designs in Primark for half the price it would be anywhere else. The clothes last longer than other shops for some un-natural reason (I know, weird) but it is better price. It's aimed towards 13-45 Year Olds, which are usually working-class, and need to buy cheap clothes, during the credit crunch especially.

I guess you can blame the customers for all of this, the popularity of Primark is simply too much and they're finding it hard to keep up with consumers buying power. If Primark wasn't popular, then Manufacturers wouldn't face such pressure to meet high demands and they wouldn't employ children.

Oh, and Primark are the only company to invest their money into a program to help combat these sorts of problems too, so how are Primark the bad guys?

    They're not.

Think of the profit they much by making, 80% on a £1 tshirt, rediculous figures like that but still we continue to buy from there and I will continue to buy from there. Actually almost all my clothes I am wearing now are from primark (H)
You are actually incorrect. They have low profit margins, but its the amount they sell that keep them in business. Educate yourself before you babble.

I hate the jewellery and bags but the clothes are sometimes nice, it's like H&M but cheaper.
