Yeah we have to learn about Islam in my school, and watch a documentary on how they pray and what they do and stuff, but we never actually had to pray. Being forced to pray to something you don't believe in is stupid.

That's wrong. If you don't believe in Allah and don't follow their religion, how can you pray to them. It's not disrespectful that they didn't participate, it's disrespectful that they didn't take into consideration the fact that not everyone is Muslim and everyone follows different religions and forcing them to pray someone they don't even believe in. That's disrespectful. That is wrong and sad.

Thats stupid. EVERYONE is given the right to be part of any religion they choose. there are no right or wrong in my point of view. Making someone pray for another religion is just ludicrous!!! Therefore, I think we shud do a habbox protest!

I gave up with RE before year 7, why would I want to know about some other religion and why would I want to answer questions about it that make very little sense to me.

If that class was half like the one I had in year 7 that teacher wouldnt have stayed around for long.

I'm all for learning about other people's religions and beliefs, in fact, I find it disgraceful when people skive and mess around in Religion lessons, as I think it should be classed as a main subject.

However, I think the teacher was wrong here, as nobody should be made to pray or made to believe in/to a God that they don't was to. My cousin is in Year 8, and just the other day she told me how she also had to do this. I was like "Thats messed up..."

This really annoys me. WHY the hell do we have to learn about their culture? Buildings for them to worship in are built here and people tolerate it. Maybe not so much after London bombings, but if any of us were to move to a country where the majority was a Muslim community we would NOT be given the same courtesys.
I know a girl who moved to one, the rule is that you couldn't wear anything that goes above the knee and tshirts were to have sleeves. She abided by that rule, yet she was STILL followed about and called a s**t!!!!
I can't stand this whole thing anymore, it pisses me off. Religion isn't factual, not everybody believes in it, but you can't argue with things like maths and at school facts are what we should be taught.
Maybe being taught to be tolerable to others, but that should come into everything, religions, race, sexual orientation etc.
Sorry I may have strayed a bit, but this is just stupid now.

I refused to take part in anything in relation to religion in RE - I know it's stupid but everything was about how Christianity was so good and Islam was the life any everything. It's stupid because I'm an athiest and every time I told my teacher that, she disagreed with me and actually gave me detention and referrals because I don't believe what she believed and argued against it. It ended up in me skipping every RE lesson after that and not taking part in the exam which cost me a GCSE but I refuse to learn about any religion, especially Islam because this is a Christian country.

I mean, why on earth would you know the answer to this question:
Catholic's are of the opinion that abortion is wrong, show how a Muslim's beliefes agree/disagree with this.

How the hell do I know? I'm not a bloody Muslim.

I agree, I been forced to do an Islamic Art drawing. I got no clue how to do it. and we also spent more of the year studying Muslims than Christians. Personally it offends my own religion!
And I think this prayer stuff is DISGUSTING!
