Yeah I was given a slap when I was younger, but it hasn't made me bitter. I'm not talking about beating my kids, there's a big difference. Maybe you don't see the line between a slap on the legs and genuinely beating your kids, but most people can.

Sorry for not posting what happened. The police entered my house and stayed there for a good fifteen minutes until I decidet I want done. I'd decided not to press charges and not to have him arrested, although he was standing down in the kitchen willing to accept arrest for what he did. I thought about many things like how this would affect my mum and him being arrested/for assualt wouldn't help him see his 'kids' that he doesn't see. He's still currently living here (pathetic, i'd admit) although, if he acts over rationally again - he's gone, jailed.
