I got mine, "iogg" from joining a server on Counter-Strike: Source with the name "1066" - for some odd reason, my name had changed to iogg. The 1 turning into an 'i', the 0 turning into an 'o' and the 6 turning into a 'g'

Have used it every since, and I pronounce it "eye - ogg"

Incorrect, the Internet was presumably created in around the 1960s by Russian's in the 'Space Race' however no one can put an exact time on the creation of the Internet as it's surprisingly a very difficult thing to define. I'd personally define it as 'The public intranet'.
