In fact, I reckon that the majority of it wasn't aired due to it being too cruel.
Most of them won't and if they do it will be due to peer pressure which the program was 'enlightening' people about.

How is the show not cruel? You think a 9 year old forced to live on their own because of some individuals isn't cruel? You think that having a group of girls or boys scream at you isn't cruel? You think that having two boys stand in front of you laughing at you doesn't even touch cruelty?

Sure, they are learning to stick up for themselves, but a lot of time it's best to walk away rather than start a fight over a tedious comment made by one person which evidently a lot of them unfortunately were doing so.

I completely agree with you that they are learning how to look after themselves and have a little more responsibility, but I think it's a little too young to be doing so at the age of 9.
Ironically the 9 year old was the most mature. They wern't forced, they could of left whenever they wanted too. You have a weird definition of cruelty and you do relise that 10000x worse happens in school/classrooms/playgrounds?

LOL he was quite funny but was clearly trying to act 'hard'. Of course, he couldn't do this lots because he was too busy shoveling cake down his throat.
The other day I was in a toilet.
A voice came from the cubicle next to me: "Hello mate, how are you doing?"
I didn't want to be rude, so I said, "Not too bad, thanks."
I heard the voice again. "So, what are you up to?"
Again I answered, "Just having a quick ****... How about yourself?"
Then I heard him say "Sorry, mate, I'll have to call you back. I've got some **** in the cubicle next to me answering everything I say."

Same - As Favourtism said, he tried acting hard but was too busy stuffing his face - he also got in a temper when he might of gone hungry for one night :L

Argh right, I'm sorry my definition of cruelty doesn't suffice you. Last time I checked, cruelty to me and many others was where one felt suffering. My examples, to me, would cause me to suffer (prime example here being where the girl was driven out of the house to live by her own).

Whilst they weren't forced, I think you'll find that the mind of a 9 year old isn't developed enough to understand the concept of what's right and wrong. Sure, the parents could have stepped in, but they didn't, and to me that's where they let themselves down as good parents.

10000x worse may happen in a school, but I think you're forgetting these lot do not go to a secondary school. The majority (idk if 11 y/o are at secondary) will go to primary schools, and certainly back in my time there was little violence or 'scraps' as you may wish to put it.

Besides, you can't really compare a group of children living on their own to a playground or classroom atmosphere, can you? They are completely different - infact, the only way they relate is that they have children of the same age, but the situation is completely out of proportion to one and other. You may get a one-off fight, but that's as far as it will go.

You get that behaviour and worse happening now in Primary Schools. You do know that it's changed lots since your day or even my day? It's been reported 9year olds have had sex (or at least tried) and you can find some right abusive little kids these days.

Trust me as my mum is a Teacher Assistant at a primary school, you get a lot worse.

On again, and they have just been iven £50 each.

The program is basically a 'documentary' about if Boys and Girls could live alone with parents for two weeks.

Many issues have come up over this program, chat about it here!

    ---

Personally i think Boys and Girls alone is so funny to watch, but the fact that some of the girls try SMOKING, and bullying also occurs over the next two weeks of it, it should not have been put on tv. Typical channel 4 and their rubbish about 'documentary' Its basically Big Brother with kids
WHat the **** is wrong with you, are you some sort of religious dude who think doing something wrong is bad?

Or it's just ironic that the government are trying to stop smoking, teenage pregnancies, bullying, etc. and then this program be aired, showing exactly those problems, which are most likely going to influence peers of their age.

Besides, of course doing something 'wrong' is 'bad'. For a start they both can be put into the same context, and more or less have the same meaning.

I saw absolutely no smoking, teenage pregnancies (or teenagers) or bullying on the program.
The worst I saw was kids falling out, which is what kids do.
