let me jump in for one second and say:

We will all benefit from this greatly, yes we will still have to pay increased taxes whatever, but the profit from the games will be spread around a bit and everywhere will get some gains

I wont post in here again, if you choose to argue my point, heck so be it but your fighting a stalemate.

Okay the 'politicians' of the Habbox Forum have turned this into a ******* debate on whether the Olympics should be here or not, so thanks for ruining it, and please do NOT bother posting in here again, you know who you are. Or else I will be forced to get a MOD to close the ******* thread.

TBH, just don't bother posting, carry on watching Question Time and the BBC Parliament channel, but please do NOT ruin and please do NOT continue to de-rail this thread...

Well that's a fair comment. I didn't know that. From a purely emotive point of view I would just love to see a mixed team.

Yeah I agree Catzsy, it's a shame the other Nations aren't joining in with the one off team, but the problems all boils down to the **** head himself, Sepp Blatter.

Blatter dislikes England, we all know that. When pressure comes in from other countries, he'll cave in and pretend that there was nothing he could do about.

Anyway, onto the debate about the Olympics spending. Personally, I think the Olympics are outrageous in the way they spend money. These Olympics are costing, what? £500m maybe more and Leyton Orient are going to end up playing in the new stadium. Great.

Where is this massive income of profit appearing from?
You expect a few million tourists, or probably less, to spend the equivelent of twelve billion+ in this country?

You tell me what Liverpool is getting from this games, and something that will benefit the whole of Liverpool seeing as we paid for it, along with the countless other cities aorund the United Kingdom who are all paying increased taxes for something that only interests very few people.

Excuse me, you were the one who orginally asked me why I thought we shouldn't be holding the Olympics, you only have yourself to blame.

You asked for my reasons, I provided them, you claimed they were flawed and I asked how, you refused to give an answer.

Well it may not interest you but it does interest billions of people worldwide who will be tuning their tvs to see it. The revenues from the TV rights are going to be massive. I am not sure that you have fully researched the subject of funding. From where do you get the information that our taxes will be raised to fund this? Most of it comes from the Olympic Committee, Sponsorship, TV & Radio rights, advertising etc etc. Some will be lottery funded. I cannot see anywhere any mention of our taxes being increased for this purpose. Perhaps you will be able to enlighten me here. Also as this is a thread about the GB football team - they are using stadia UK wide so I doubt Anfield would not be included in that as well as the Millenium Stadium

It will be a great event and I am really looking forward to it.
