So far this year I haven't heard any new albums that've struck me as fantastic. Jadakiss released The Last Kiss which was disappointing for him and Eminem's Relapse was just crap. That said, there are a few upcoming albums that'll (hopefully) be among rap milestones as some of the old giants are coming out with new material.

Dre's meant to finally be releasing Detox, 5 years too late, but he's said every year that it's coming out so not holding my breath. Blueprint III should be set for September so that'll be some good old Jay-Z magic, hopefully better than American Gangster was. Chamillionaire got Venom coming which will be a hit like always.

Biggest 2 for me are both speculations but supposedly coming this year: Only Built For Cuban Linx II from Raekwon who I adore and also Seventh Seal supposedly due this year as Rakim's first real album in 10 years. Looks like hip hop's not dead after all

Id have to agree with all of that.

and, i know it's more 2008 than 2009, but since i'm getting fully into it now:
beyonce's "i am sasha fierce" is bloody brilliant.

    lovelovelove it.

i think i'm gonna have to go with alexisonfire, even though that's nowhere near as good as their older stuff.
+ taking back sunday's "new again" is alright, but nothing catchy.

incredibad by the lonely island is quality, though.
Hot n Heavy was an AMAZING album. im loving it.

But as with Alexisonfire, im greatly disappointed.... The album sounds the same the whole way through.
