Anyway I'd like to see this happen but like most/all attempts of getting YouTube emb videos on the forum, it's been shot down. I see where you're coming with 'oh immature users will rick roll us all omgz cry' but I do not think that in general the loserness and immaturity is at that level.
Thank you for explaining something so simple in such a civilised manner . I don't know what would have been so hard for Miss. 'you are a moron' to do that .

Learn how to not browse the UK YouTube then. Not my problem.

I explained it perfectly well, by demonstration.

It's not my fault you came across as a moron (ftao mods: not calling him one, thanks).

Why couldn't it be trialled for a week? disable autoplay and only allow it in specific forums, like Sports, where the forum would benefit from this a lot, we could post youtube videos of goals from matches ect, it would also work good in music, and other forums.

Because the cons pretty much outweigh the pros.

Pros: convenient (because bawwwww, we can't paste links, bawwwww)

Cons: the biggest, and main, so only one I will mention is.. IT CREATES A HEAVIER LOAD ON MACHINES. The more flash applets you have loading, the more power the browser will need.

Yes, some people have great machines that would barely feel it. However, why should those who don't be forced to have their browser hang for 20+ seconds (ballpark, etc) because people can't be bothered linking?

Well you must have a **** computer.

I use a 10" laptop with 1GB memory and an N280 Atom processor, and when I use forums that have this feature enabled, I don't feel it at all.

    BAWWWWW.

How did I figure that would be the type of response? "Get a better PC then!"

I actually have NoScript block 3rd party flash, even though YouTube is on the whitelist for it. And yes, 3 or 4 videos won't do much, which is usually all most people will put in one post. I however, browse with 40 posts per page (or.. whatever the max was).

Ever tried loading 40x4 flash apps at once? Try it sometime, really.

Unless there's the option to opt-out of showing embedded youtube (much like there is for images), its a bad idea.

Where did I say get a new laptop? no, I didn't.

And yes, there would obviously have to be an opt-out feature.

No, but by saying your slow-ish (by todays standards anyway) processor can handle it, you imply the problem would be slow machines, and not the actual implementation of the feature.

Not always obvious. A forum I use doesn't have an opt-out feature.
