This.
At the moment, VM's 50Mbit, SKY's max and all Be* and O2 (LLU not access) packages are the only genuinely unlimited ones.
VM are going to start imposing some sort of limit at some time though aren't they?
if you even get cable..
What fair usage limits?EVen then in their TOS it says "We do not cap" they email you asking you to calm down.
BT Say unlimited with a 40gb cap (they make no attempts to hide it) Where as sky it is truly unlimited.
As for VM they traffic shape so much it makes their service unusable at times.

Heres my university speed, well heres the ping first..
Sounds good right? Well....
Now slash that because of the proxy we have to ******* go through which is based in Stoke (I'm in Stafford >_>), and then divide again by how many god damn people try to play world of warcraft and xbox live on the network.
Oh and the fact the switches here are 10mb tbase or w.e................ yeah, its ******* awful, i cant even watch iplayer without it crying about freezing. The only place which doesnt go throguh proxies is the gaming room, where you get 128mb speeds. Arses or what.
Which option is this? I'm on Option 3 Unlimited* and there is NO mention of a cap using numbers, Im pretty sure we downloaded over 40GB last month due to Linux, Windows 7, and a couple of HUGE Steam games added to that the 1.5GB we generally use a day. What fair usage limits?EVen then in their TOS it says "We do not cap" they email you asking you to calm down.

Surely that's the real speed. It doesn't test your potential speed. I assume you used ur computer to get it in which case it's already gone through the proxy, as well as still being used by the university for whatever else like wow or live.. No?Heres my university speed, well heres the ping first..

Then why am I getting 500kb download speed at the moment? You'd have to see it to believe itIts because they limit halls dramatically, its not the real speed for halls though.
In Manchester University I remember there was a way to increase your speed. If your in Owens Park you get some people in tower block running servers in their halls of residence. I remember having the biggest LAN party ever at Owens Park
