can't criticise garion soz because under old regimes some of the people wouldn't have even allowed to be hired (i.e. YOUUUU richie)

meh it seems odd scrapping a role that's always been there, it always worked well having two managers, 3 head DJs and about 6 senior DJs even when the staff toll was huge because it was always easily managed, that's why international head/senior DJs were hired. I do think Gemma is deserving of the role it's just a bit sad to see a roll scrapped thats always played a part in the department. Not only were head DJs a big asset to have to help management with reports and dishing out punishments but they were there as an option for management say a manager was fired or resigned. Now, the next time a new manager is hired you're gonna have to pick from seniors, and the transition from senior DJ to manager is a lot harder and broader than that from head DJ to manager.

adding on to the idea that staff are treated too strictly on habbox then i have to agree with that, no other site treats the staff this way, all staff here have to agree and be polite and somewhat mindless on the forum and on habbo and if they're seen to argue or even be rude to a degree punishment is always the result.

lol but I got fired straight away

I would of kicked up a fuss because I was fired unfairly maybe I shouldn't of been hired but I was, the only reason I'm not defending myself is cos i'd be putting the blame on ppl who probably wanted me to stay. Tbf though I don't deserve to be staff atm but being put on the dnhl is harsh, its not like i hacked anyone or actually got fired lol but whatever your inta jacinta.

Staff are expected to follow the forum rules the same way as any other members. They aren't asked to be mindless or anything, just follow the rules. We do enforce things to an extent on Habbo but when staff are in official Habbox rooms they are ambassadors of Habbox and should be behaving accordingly. Not to mention I don't want staff who are cautioned or temporarily banned?

I really do dislike it when people use the "well other fansites" comparison (sorry Leah). It's stupid. We aren't any other fansite. We are Habbox.

Figured I'd add my tidbit from being Radio Management in the past

As people have mentioned the listener numbers are not very high during the day and in my honest opinion they will never be high during the night. Yes we have tried in the past to get DJs to DJ during the night (often times I would be up just streaming and that only got around 50 listeners). The best thing I believe would be either close the radio at a certain time of night or try and find a system that will play a list of songs (We had a system before where Auto-dj would kick in if a DJ was not on air).

In the Head DJ role being scrapped, it is stupid. Head DJs had the role of being a team leader and also a person who DJs could contact personally if any problems were to occur. Now this has been taken away and you have the big step of DJs > Senior DJs > Management. That is a hefty step to make and I know that the habbox staff are all about communication but in reality this does not work!

Onto another matter, I am sure Gems is brilliant at her job but I am very annoyed the fact that they say communication is key where they don't actually involve people who play a big part in the discussion until the last minute? Normally when choosing a high member of staff to promote, ALL of management is involved from the very start not right at the end where it is a simple yes or no answer.

To go back on topic, Head DJs should not really have the same job as Assistant Manager for security issues (I won't go into what I have heard about that) but I do believe Head DJs are a key role in helping run the department and assisting the Assistant Manager should the main manager be on holiday or something.

didn't stu from Habboforum say something about users that work on fansites can't be called staff for legal reasons because they can sue or something... sorry that this has nothing to do with this but it kinda comes in with the bit about being 'staff' and behaving well and stuff.. and it was just in my head :S

Agreed with Angel-Light, the head dj was more of a peer mentor than someone of a higher position.

I have to disagree with that, just ask poor roxy who has to put up with my arguments :p
Although I do agree that the punishment system seems to be really harsh. I don't know all the details but there seems to have been a lot of fired staff recently and I'm not sure if there's a balance between having fun (its only an online job after all) and doing the job that you applied for.

Anyway, as for scrapping the Head DJ role, this probably wasn't thought of at the last minute. It took me months before I decided to scrap the Senior Comps staff role to Assistant. It won't make much of a difference imo, I expect their roles will remain virtually the same. The only difference is the extra staff forums she gets to see, I expect! Well done Gemma

at myke yeah. he was a control freak though. he said a flaw with fansites is they call their "volunteers" "staff", and they could go down unfair dismissal tribunals and all this lol can't really remember his explanations. i'm sure he knows what he's on about though (lol well he might do)
