Anyone stupid enough to take drugs just because someone famous does it deserves whatever mishaps might come their way. If you want to do drugs you should do it for yourself because it makes you feel good, not to emulate someone else.

i don't really have a problem with her music really, although it really isnt good, and i dont even really have a problem with the fact that she's unoriginal, which she is. she obviously has "talent" in that she's made catchy enough songs to be recognized worldwide. but thats not what bothers me about her, what bothers me is that she presents herself as if she actually is new, as if she's inventing this type of music or this type of provocative style, but its all been done before. and what reallly peeves me off about her is that she's said multiple times that other artists dont work as hard as her, as if the type of music she creates is really difficult. putting out 2 albums in 2 years isn't really an amazing feat, but she seems to think it is. i think other artists have explained their beef with her better, this quote is joanna newsom:

i think the part i agree with most is the part about how she takes herself far far far too seriously. there's TONS of generic pop music out there, and i have no problem with most pop artists because they're not trying to prove theyre anything more than what they actually are, which are models with mass-appeal music and pandering songs that can be easily repeated over and over by 15 year old girls. there's nothing wrong with that. they're not trying to tell people how original they are, cause they know damn well they don't compare to the incredibly broad diversity amongst other original albeit less popular musicians. lady gaga bothers me because she wont admit she belongs in this category of musicians even though there is absolutely nothing separating her from them.

yes ive heard the MIA comparisons and dont get me wrong i love her check my av and sig yeah but her and gaga are two completely different artists, their music is different, they dress differently, they are just so not similar and i dont understand it. and i completely disagree with what she said about the weird thing. people seem to fail to realise that gaga has never once said she is 'weird'. its just other people. one of the most annoying things i find in people is when they try and call themselves crazy or weird cos they are just not and strive to be something different. lady gaga doesnt do this. also im not sure why mia has such an issue with lady gaga cos she had some bad things to say about her recently as well and i dont know why shes still doing it as if she wants to start some 'public beef' with her and just wants her to retaliate. if gaga was such a media ***** she would hit back at all these people and make a lot of enemies but she doesnt talk about other artists.

and i agree with what youre saying about how her music is nothing new. once again she never said it was, its pop music. however when i listen to her i cant help but feel she is so different to other pop singers because she has a lot of creative control over it and writes it all, and people like britney spears dont so i think comparisons to her are unfair even though their music does share some similarities its just different.

i havent heard of where she said that she works harder than other artists. ive heard that said about her but never from her. so if she did, i agree with you there but i dont think she would have said that. and its not even about releasing an album every year, its about literally just not stopping working, she didnt take a break at all in between the two. and im not saying shes the only one that does that but she does work incredibly hard.

also i agree slightly with the seriousness, a lot of her music is just like 'catchy pop' music but if you listen to some of the album tracks, especially from the fame monster, a bit of what it is about is serious and not just 'catchy pop'.
