I also saw someone posted something about an uprising in his own party? Thank god if it's true - none of that family can run a country for ****.
Lol hilarious, war!!! lmao pmsl. Not really that funny tbh, and technically they're still at War seeing as they have never signed a peace treaty since the last War to declare it's over.

Don't become another member who shouts War constantly, HxF used to be full of them and thankfully they've all gone. There's nothing to suggest that Kim Jong Il is trying to create war because he's about to die soon. Haven't seen anything about this uprising tbh, not sure where you're getting that from.

Well to be fair kim il sung (his father) did a far better job of running the country (not that it was an amazing job but....).
I think the real reason things have become so much worse isn't that Kim Jong Il is a worse leader as such, it's more there isn't the Soviet Union to support them anymore.

I meant Kim Jong it was a typo. And I'm not saying "OMG ITS WW3" because it's obviously not, but I can see N. & S. Korea going to war - actual war where they're physically fighting & Korea becomes a battle field.

And I just saw someone post that it was an act of defiance against the rebels or something?

Their economy is the way it is because all their resources (food and materials) go to the military. I made the point of just saying about their military hardware (tanks, planes and ships) because at the end of the day an ill trained N korean conscript armed with an AK-47 is as deadly as a Well trained/armed Royal Marine. Bullets are bullets.

South Korea needs to keep up with these exercises to show North Korea that they will not be bullied into stopping their military activities.

I agree with you that North Korea can not afford to go to war (for a while period of time anyway)

Yeah the USSR colapsing, pretty much screwed N.Korea.

N.Korea cannot exist as it does for much longer, somethings gotta happen.

A laissé ses graines lorsque je dormais

Wow the Wikileaks thing has finally produced something which isn't 'stating the obvious'.

China see's no use in North Korea and backs a unified Korea under South Korean control. It's certainly changed my view on China in a positive way plus it'll surely raise tensions between the North Koreans and Chinese?

The sentence "like China would give a damn" comes to mind If North Korea can't learn to grow up then they're only causing more trouble to themselves. Good on China for backing South Korea though. China and South Korea just seem like two adults sitting either side of a bratty spoilt child who keeps throwing his toys around.

Well all I have to say really on the Korean topic is; for goodness sake lets keep our noses out of it.

In terms of Korean unification - only if the Korean people want it.

Glad China have backed unification under Seoul. I think if N. Korea try to do anything with no backing (now we've seen the true position of China) then well...stupid much?

So you condone a harsh dictator deceiving and completely screwing over 24 million people then?
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.

I'm saying lets keep out of it because there's nothing we can seriously do without bankrupting ourselves with an expensive war (both in finance terms and lives lost) along with the fact if we were to 'sort out' North Korea, why not go and sort out some of the bigger boys likeChina/Libya/Saudi Arabia/Cuba + others aswell? - oh but I forgot! you're the guy who is all for taking out the little countries but suprisingly won't volunteer to go and serve himself! when you are prepared to go and sign up then your arguments will hold some weight and meaning. To clarify; I despise socialist regimes such as the North Korean regime and thats pretty clear whenever I talk on foreign policy topics/history in general, just as I condone past socialist regimes such as the the Soviet Union and the Third Reich.

I want the Korean people to decide whether they want a unified Korea, not Western/Chinese politicians.
