I don't think the people who are wanting to wear headbands were expecting there awareness to help Japan overcome the situation. All they are doing is showing they care about what has happened and are thinking of them. There are Habbo users who are young, I don't expect them to donate.

Japan has the finance to help itself out, it doesn't need help. Especially from Habbo! Natural disasters occur all over the world, we don't need to show support in this form. If you really want to help out donate your funds to charities that aid this disaster.

that is so ridiculous, showing support whether it helps or not is a very respectful thing to do. it's not 'just' a natural disaster and so what if they have the finance to sort themselves out? every little helps. what if it happened to the uk and no-one helped us even though we could do it ourselves? you wouldn't be happy... lol i really can't believe someone would actually argue against this, this can only benefit the whole situation, there is no harm in it. things like these need support in any form, to idk... show the world and especially japan that there's still hope? that people are actually human and care? cause that's really not the vibe i get from some people.... i guess some of you are too cold-hearted and pathetic to realise that. no-one is asking for YOUR support but having to dismiss and criticise people's ideas is just disgusting. you can't even show just a little tiny support and respect to all those that have died and those who've lost everything? yeah i'm not just talking you, just everyone. urgh

tara is right, showing support = raising awareness = more donations. a lot of kids use habbo and kids are easily persuaded and will want to help out that can ONLY be a good thing? at least they're being educated on what goes on in the world, that they can actually do something about it and be taught to sympathise with others by showing their support, i thought that was part of being human.

none of you would have the balls to say this or any jokes in the real world, i'd love to see you try. i really do wonder what is wrong with the people who do? it only shows a lack of empathy. tbh from what i've seen from this thread, those that are going against the support just look like they want to win some sort of argument because they probably couldn't do it in real life lmao

& anyone who uses the excuse "just because you love the japanese" then i really don't give a **** cause it's true, i like japanese people so YES i do care more than i would about any other culture but i don't think that's a bad thing. & now i look like an idiot but i said what i wanted to so from now on i'll just ignore anything that's said on here or facebook about it cause i've actually found a place where people don't try to impress others with their sad lives and lame jokes. yes it exists.

also shaz if it was ******* south korea i bet you'd be all up on that **** slagging off every person who refused to show their support >.< i doubt anyone is PRETENDING they care? why would they bother? i'd rather someone pretend they care than just to be an ass about the whole thing. i can't even put in to words what i want to say..

& no i won't be using habbo to show my support but i have donated and will continue to do so =]

I kind of stopped at 'that is so ridiculous'. People have their own opinions and this is a forum to express your opinions Peoples opinions you may not agree with, but that is life.

yeah you're right, i've spent too much time talking to mature people who can back up their opinions and provide decent argument that i just got in to the habit. damn i thought you'd be one of those people but it looks like i was disappointed. it won't happen again sir.

I read this as Habbo was supporting the Japan Earthquake relief efforts, I nearly chocked because we all know that won't happen

To be honest, changing your digital avatar to raise awareness for Japan is a bit pointless when everyone and their dog knows what happened in Japan. If you want to help, give some money alongside changing your digital, useless avatar. Tell people to support the relief efforts beyond that of your useless, digital avatar, because at the moment it seems to be more focused on a belt or an item of useless headgear, which isn't helping. It's all well and good raising awareness, but if you're not telling people to actually help then your efforts are futile.

Because thats a form of protest in order to get their voices heard.

Im struggling to see your point here.
    ^ Adding to this:

Gay Pride events usually have volunteers giving out sexual health tips and advice, as well as condoms.
PETA is a joke and technically do not count. But they're usually protesting in front of places who are suspected of being cruel to animals.

    Pretty much this jen.

Also its kind of wrong to assume that no one would say this in real life. Why not? Its my opinion and ill stand by this. Im sure people will agree with me irl and if they dont who cares. I had some bigass debate about tuition fees where EVERYONE, literally EVERYONE was against me, did i give a damn? Nope, kept arguing my point because i support my opinions. If i realise the other person is right then sometimes i can be a tad stubborn and keep arguing my point, but more often than not ill admit i was wrong n thats that.

As for dismissing their idea, yeah of course i am. Its my opinion like ive stated and i backed it up when they called me out on it. Like many have said before, its a forum and that is for discussing and putting forward your opinions, whilst backing them up. All of which i have done.

I still find it a stupid idea and stand by that.
