the nearest mcdonalds is 45m drive from mac

in all seriousness though if he has kids of the same age i think it's more likely she's gna be alive even though they were (at least yesterday) looking for a body, not a girl. so shocking he actually KNEW her too!!

The thing that's really bugging me is they keep saying there's no other links in the area but over the last year there's been like 4 attempted abductions in the penparcau area here, as well as the surrounding communities!!!

How awful, I do hope she is found safe and well.

I'd also add very quickly, those blaming the parents are beyond ridiculous. If you think back to your own childhood, there will have been times when you asked your parents to stay out 'just a little bit longer' and they've said yes - and that is all it takes, a minute lapse in attention (which we all make and will forever make). Indeed, she could just have easily have been taken at dinner time, 3pm or 5pm.

The person to blame is the person who has taken this little girl, not her heartbroken parents who certainly would never have expected anything like this to happen in the small town they live in.

I'm not sure people know how much of a close knit village it is too.

My family live like 10 minutes away and they still leave their car keys in car 24/7 in-case anyone in the village needs to move it. Also when they go on holiday they leave the house open so others can go in if they need to.

They've released an image of the man today, and they are also now searching vacant farmhouses in the area

They've arrested the man in question for murder apparently.

How can they arrest someone for murder when there is no body or any proof she is dead. Are the police basically saying, thats it we are sure she is dead?

Doubt they would turn it into murder if they had no proof

Like above, they will need at least some proof to arrest him on suspicion of murder

On the train today (goes through Machynlleth), someone got on and was talking to me about it.

She knows someone who saw the man in question carrying a heavy-looking black bin bag around the time April went missing. And he has said something in questioning because they have now narrowed down their searches and are sending teams to certain places rather than just a 'general' search. This is probably the same reason why he's being held in custody longer - you can arrest someone on suspicion of murder without actual CONCRETE (per se) proof, it works to detain them a bit longer, in case he were to leave the country or something.
