Too old for Habbo(x)?

I use Habbo like I would any other website I frequently go on, like for example I use the Dailymail more then I do Habbo

If you have the spare time and using the computer, then why not?

this'll be my first post in prob a couple of years; hiya!

i'm now 26 and i can't lie, about once every six months i will pop on the forum to see how things are! i don't post (i might leave a couple of visitor messages) but on the whole i will have a look for about 5 minutes and pop off again and that'll be it for another 6 months.

honestly, yes, i think there should be an age limit on it. not on the forum, as such, but when i look back to when i "worked" here, i was not happy and my life was not going anywhere. rather than being a fun addition to my social life, it had become my social life and i don't think that is right. i still play video games such as overwatch with friends, but they are quick hour sessions. and they don't replace contact i have in the outside world, i think (for some, not for everyone) this website definitely does that.

as for habbo hotel? i haven't logged on there for a few years. and i do find it odd that there are older people on there, for me it's a little bit like going and sitting in the soft-play area of a restaurant or something. i'm an adult, i don't want to be communicating on a social media platform made for children.

but anyway, yeah, hope everyone is good!

I'm 23 and I don't think I'm 'too old' I rarely use habboxforum or habbo anymore but have been coming on a bit more gradually in the last few weeks because I'm waiting to start my job so it's good for passing the time. Throughout my three years at uni I barely came on as I was busy with life.

Anyways I use habbo and habbox as a means to communicate with old friends who I met online, it's nice to catch up with them and see what people are up to now and just have a nice chat really.

I only use Habbox for the forum and I rarely use that now to tell the truth. When I was young I used Habbo and then years later set up an online non habbo station and used some habbo presenters, as some are good (most aren't).

I do from time to time re-visit the forum, not interest in habbo itself and I can see myself stopping coming here to.

I don't play Habbo anymore and haven't played in years but I started playing when I was 13/14 and I'm now nearly 25! There came a time where I just wasn't enjoying it anymore, alot of my friends who played Habbo moved on to console gaming soon after.

I religiously played Habbo since June 2005. It was a game that I could never get enough of. As a few have said already, I would spend in excess of 12 hours a day on Habbo back in my younger days. I didn't think I would ever grow out of Habbo because it learnt me a lot of valuable skills - which sounds crazy. If it wasn't for Habbo I wouldn't be where I am in life now. It helped me become who I am today!

I began to phase out of Habbo probably at the age of 18 just before the Channel 4 News investigation - I remember watching that broadcast live and was shocked but I guess it was something (as bad as it sounds) that was eventually going to happen as some of the chat rooms inside Habbo were very explicit considering it's a networking game targeted at teens. I actually logged back onto Habbo once it re-opened again and as it was quite sad seeing the "Online Users" count at 1,000 rather than 12,000 like it was back in our peak days - I even recall Habbo.es having over 26,000 users online at one point, bizzare! I felt quite emotional when I discovered that the Casino's had been banned - I totally see why - but the fun I had in my Habbo life was always involved in and around Casinos. I loved making my own Casino's and earning value!

I do believe if the above didn't happen I would probably still be playing Habbo today, not as committed as my younger days but to check-in every other day.

However, more on topic, there has to be a cut off point with users that played Habbo as much as I did. At times, it got the better of me during education. It was an addiction. I've never had one before or after Habbo but that was an incredible addiction. One I don't regret. As we grow up into adults we start to have more responsibilities which will reduce the amount of playing time down. It has to happen. I wouldn't expect anyone over my age (23) to be playing Habbo several hours a day - obviously depending on individual circumstances. I knew many users that used Habbo as an escape from the real world. Habbo was/is a game that could build confidence in people, it certainly had that effect on me!

To close; it had a big impact on my life in my teen years but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way nor do I regret anything. I've lost contact with people that could only be classed as my friends. I wish all the users that I met throughout my stay at Habbo Hotel every success in life as it was you that made me who I am today.
