It would be worth asking what exact optimisations you are suggesting - I have done some stuff, not sure if there is something specific I should have done..
Also made sure auto-defrag is off.

1) Disable sleeping mode (hibernation)
2) Disable hard drive sleep
3) Disable sudden motion sensor
4) Enable noatime for SSD filesystems
5) Disable Spotlight
