They do indeed. I like my "status" tbh. I'm not "popular" but i speak to "popular" people. I speak to everyone except the really strange people and the cannabis addicted chavs.

I had the same problem,when i first joined middle school i made friends with a boy called george and he ennoyed everyone but i was still best mates with him and because i hung around with him people started not to like me,and then it came to high school and even the people there didnt like me cuz i was still friends with this boy and finally i said to him i dont want to be you friend any more cuz ur ennoying people and bringing me down with you(as you can guess he didnt take it too well) and for about a year onwards not many peeps would talk to me but slowly i made new friends and now i may not be popular but i have quite a few friends,i just changed my ways not who i am!

I think it's going quite well, I sit next to a popular girl in English and we mess around but I do do the work first.
I've also started speaking to more popular people and I'm gonna try and sit with them in the canteen tommorow. So I'll see how it goes
