Actualy it hasnt happened yet, since Y2k is the result of the datatype used to store dates in the computer systems being only 11 bits hence only able to store numbers up to 2000, although the problem is, although its rounded to make it easyer for people to sound, 2000 isnt a possible max number storeable in binary, the closest is 2048, which is 11 bits, which in itself seems to be a bit of an odd number anyway to use as a date datatype.

Id hope so, plus i just checked im pretty sure windows uses a double as its datatype (16 bits) so has no risk of running out of dates.

Computers will always have some sort of destruction inside them even if they are the most sophisticated. And it always is about the date. Perhaps it'll be robots that destroy us and the Earth.

Wha? plus there are storage mechanisms that allow for a unlimited data length, its used in the ram all the time, and for storage of arrays and other non-specific datatypes o.0
Plus 16 bit date type has you set for a good 240,000 years.

There will always be a problem with computers. Nothing to do with bits and RAMs. Take it from me, they will always cause trouble.
