HabboHarmony/Universe steals Housekeeping as own!

We had fixed all exploits but upon a break in the server we reuploaded a backup, which was the old version of the staffpanel.

The panel was released FREE TO USE.

As Radio Manager, i found this problem when louis an ex-DJ tried hacking it.

I told Universe about the problem but he said no dont worry no one can make users, its fully secure. Youve obviously prooved my point.

So true, so true. It's a shame HabboHarmony stooped this low as to steal a usersystem. I would be in the right mind to give him a warning, a little email of his password & details I think would be a nice wakeup call. Anyway, I hope you get it sorted Caleb.

I don't see any problem with you leaving doorways for yourself, that's basically what any system would do. You leave a backdoor open to take forged copies down, alot like VBulletin do. It's not rare in the market so don't go accusing him of being so awful. I think he's being professional, as he hasn't taken action he could. I'd think Universe would be polite enough to comment on this rather than his 'henchman'. It's all that Habbo Xing, it just fills his schedule up. Just to add by the way, official status can easily be revoked, it was done by NamistaiFM which reformed back in 07 but never gotten popular despite being owned by Lost_witness & ThemoFairy. Official status was never given back despite technically they did still have it.

It can easily be revoked, so I wouldn't be so hasty as to accuse them of corruption.

Anyway, I'm betting after this Caleb will be a bit more careful on who takes what & where things are put. I'm sure a Google search could come up quite conclusive, providing you know how to use it. I'd expect a patch to be put up too if I owned a copy.

I agree, although it was not a flaw I left in the panel, the original HK was secured, except for a few security exploits, I was not that knowledged at the time I made it on securing it.

The add_user was secured though, after many years it got depreciated, and many releases by users later.. removed.

He had an illegal copy, that is why I knew it was vulnerable, all the copies that were sold/released by certain individuals had that exploit in it, and that is how I check to see which version it is.

As well as a few un-named exploits.

Absolutely pathetic that an official site would steal work without asking.

This is pathetic. Caleb you have proved your script has flaws and people will no longer use it, you may not care but whatever. Why, when there are other sites using the script and removing the copyright you aim at HabboHarmony?

There was no need for any of this? Maybe you could have contacted Universe or HabboHarmony privately rather than posting it on one of/the most used Habbo Forum? Are you jealous of the site?

What else has made me laugh is the people spamming the newsletter function. There was only one email in that system, mine. You all put things like 'PWNED ZOMG' when you've done nothing? I even got one email saying '[ZFK KREW PWNED U]' which makes me laugh.

Maybe next time someone breaches copyright and I know an exploit Ill post on a forum?

This is not a flaw in my script, if you download the original HK from www.habboring.com you will see that this flaw is secured.

Universe Radio Systems could mean anything to anyone, without any copyright signs!

I'm now out to prove this panel is nothing to do with the so called 'Housekeeping' owner from the poster. The panel was copied to me from Nkay. about 2 years ago before Thinkhabbo (his site) was opened. I owned a habbo fansite called Habboshed and the owner from Habbofm and Nkay joined the site and installed their 'pre-made panel' onto the site giving me permission to use it. I think I even have emails of releases and updates sent to me still in my stored email box.

I would also now like to list just SOME of the website who are using this 'SO CALLED... housekeeping' panel.

I'd say to be quite honest.. the 'HOUSEKEEPING' was nicked from the Habbofm techy and owner!

It was released as opensource under the GNU GPL, which protects against things like this.

By saying "Universe Radio Systems", means "I created this panel, and it is my radio system" so to speak.



I have the support of many users on here, that was around during the development of Housekeeping, as well as many fansite owners who received the first copies before, it was ever released.

That was so immature Greg, don't try and mention past experiences to try and "own" people online because that get's you nowhere. Try again next time :rolleyes:



That is true what Tom said, something is only copy righted when the appropriate logo is given on the product or service to prevent other people from copying that idea.


That's rubbish, companies will always make sure their products/services are copyrighted to prevent through appropriate legislation's, logo's or documents shown on the product/service. However, if you adjust a product that wasn't copyrighted in the first place and name it your own. There is nothing you can really do.

I find it quite ironic how Caleb just posted his own project and pointed out the flaws because he has nothing else better to do than victimize sites thinking he'll actually make an effect.

It is not my flaws.. you fail to understand.

Anything released is copyrighted automatically to the owner as stated in UK laws (use Google).

It was also released under the GNU GPL, more protection

Summary:

Someone steals panel.
Owner posts flaws in software
Stealer gets whats coming to them.

If you steal somthing and it comes back to bite you, you aint getting any sympathy here. Ether make your own panel or get one legally, be it a free one or just going out and buying it.

2. I have contacted Universe in the past about removing it, VIA Habbo console, he said it was his panel, I had no right to ask for removal.

One of the original, the original included a disclaimer, a copy of the GNU GPL, as well as a few other files, that were not included with the one that is released there.

I agree with Universe, this is going to sound so ridiculous but here is goes...

Universe got the original panel off of Nkay which I coded originally for HabboFM, but then moved it to ThinkHabbo the original system was full of flaws, pretty much fully hackable, I then coded what was the first ThinkHabbo version which a few less flaws but it still had a few I admit, I was still learning to code at this point, some pages I did not code, hence why they did not have the proper security, but anyone who knows from my knowledge if you have the original system you are safe, its just a few pages that can be seen, but nothing major and I believe no one has hacked it yet, only hack in the sense someone stole another DJs password.

So there you have it, I know that no one would probably believe me but oh well. You are free to ask any ThinkHabbo or HabboFM Management, obviously those I worked with, new management wont know. (Nkay etc...)
