I thank people for stupid things, like when I got very tipsy/verge of drunkness I thanked a male waiter who gave my friend his dessert, when he walkled away I randomly came out with "What a lovely woman." I also talk about sex loudly...

If you mean like, 'thankyou so much!' when there's no reason to be, I do that too.
