    Soundtracks don't include the opening and ending music. If I was including those as well it would be Hajime no Ippo all the way!

    Ah I know they don't count, but they still are awesome tracks Same with the K-On! Opening and ending, I just think they are awesome tracks.

    I think I'll have to say Death Note actually has the best overall music in a series. Awesome openings and endings and fantastic background music. Hajime no Ippo and Gintama closely follow.

    Death notes music was really good for the type of show it was, really went with the storyline and what was happening at the time. If the show got violent, the music would get more abrupt ect. The only reason I didn't put it up higher on my list was because Gurren Lagann and K-On! had soundtracks that were not only good, but it was also my kind of music And even though Death Note probably was the best out of all my choices when it came to the way it was used; and when, I just loved the music of K-On! And TTGL more (a bit off topic but I also thought the death note live action movies had great soundtracks, especially L: Change the world, but i guess L: Change the world doesn’t really count as it was directed by Hideo Nakata, but the two death note live actions were Shusuke Kaneko I think. I think L: Change the world ending on that Lenny Kravitz song was amazing!)

    And oh sorry :3 I was thinking it was about me because I had also mentioned Opening and Endings hehe

    I thought the music in Death Note was fantastic but then after 20 episodes the opening and ending songs changed to What's Up, People!? and Zetsubou Billy by Maximum The Hormone, which totally blew me away and made me realise the music wasn't just fantastic, but something beyond that!

    On the topic of Japanese movie soundtracks - Ping Pong has an amazing one, and one of only two songs that have actually made me cry! The first 20th Century Boys movie had a great soundtrack as well. Haven't seen the second or third yet but I assume they also have good soundtracks.

    Oh my! When they changed the Opening and Ending to Maximum The Hormone songs, I was just shocked with joy. They are both two of my favourite Maximum The Hormone songs, and to have them both in a great anime was awesome. While we are taking about Maximum The Hormone;

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eucS-vZ99SQ - Koi No Mega Lover! I used to love that song by them; even now I think the song is a classic by them. A bit more poppy to there other songs though. Sadly this song would have been so out of place as a Death Note opening haha Great band none the less.
