But i think we need someone in the central position, bit like lamps and Gerrard. Someone who is the anchor of the team. Carrick is not really providing that.

Reminds me a bit of Rosicky for some reason, he likes to float around the middle as well as go wide and is a good passer and has a good shot on him. Personally I think United should make a bid for either, Silva, Bastian Schweinsteiger or maybe even V.D.Vaart. V.D.Vaart would suit them I think even though he said he's staying at Madrid you never know. Also, Bastian might not be needed at Munich as they have Robben and Ribery. They really should have gone for Sneijder.

Ye, I've seen Van Der Vart and Sneijer play (Mostly for their Countries) and they are both deadly players, and they are really good with set-pieces. A player of their caliber is what we need.

If nothing happens then i hope Nani and Valencia can provide on the flanks. They will be important for us this season.

But ye, if we don't sign anyone else this summer then let's just see how things go...

TBH, I think Johnson is worth aorund the £15 Million mark. Cole was that price roughly when he moved to Chelsea from Arsenal and I think that Johnson has potential to be equally as good or even better than Cole. He provides that extra width that is good for Liverpool. Plus, good Full backs are hard to come by.

No, Carrick is the anchor, he holds the play down, but you need someone to make the game flow. Get attacks moving. Before, it worked because you could have two CDM with Giggs and Ronaldo being given complete freedom up the wings. Now Giggs is older and Ronaldo has left you need a new plan. You need a Lampard or a Gerrard to get attacks going.

So he can fill in on the left flank, and in the CM position, next to Carrick. He was beginning to get groomed into a CM role last season anyway. And for the RB role, O'Neill's contract with WHU has run out this summer, so United could nab a solid RB for free.
