A character is a character. An actor and a character are the complete opposite. An actor embodies fiction.

A man is a man. Gay people wear make up - they are effeminate. That is acceptable. If you are a straight male, then no, you should not wear make up.

LOL.. So a woman can't have short hair or wear trousers coz it makes them manly? No no.

Rather pathetic and insultive comment to say any guy wearing makeup is a tranny? Slightly pratty dont you think?

Er. Well I'd like it if you had a completely disgusting complexion if you wore a bit of cover-up to make yourself not look like a deformed pizza with a face plastered on it. :/

Well I have this spot cream thing, its for women. Every time I get like a noticable spot I put the cream on and you cant see it anymore. I also use vaseline, thats about it.

I think OTT makeup is by far wrong.

I don't really care what other people do to their own bodies but I really wouldn't like to hang around with someone who does.

Though what if they're hiding something embarrassing such as a birth mark or a skin condition? Surely it's suitable in those circumstances.

Obviously you are entitled to your opinions but I don't necessarily think all gay men are effeminate - far from it I would say. I do think this is a bit more up to date opinion:

The definition of what constitutes effeminate behavior varies greatly depending on the social and cultural context, as well as on the time period. While some effeminate behavior evokes stereotypical impressions of homosexuality in some people, others may simply view the behavior as "unmanly" without questioning the sexual orientation of the person in question.

It is becoming more and more accepted (in fact desired) to have feminine qualities in the western world. In fact, it has been proven that men with effeminate traits earn more and have higher paying jobs and a higher quality of life.

Examples of behavior noncompliant with conventional masculinity have included:

    Interest in women's fashion.
Effusive emotional expressions among other males.
    Cross-dressing or use of makeup.
    Adoption of stereotypically feminine mannerisms.
Fashions change constantly and in history it was often fashionable for men to wear more make up than women.
When actors are not on the set - why then do they wear make up for tv interviews etc?

My two friends at school do, they're gay. One wears light make-up, the other wears heavy. I don't personally see a massive problem with it.

Personally, I don't think males should wear it. Make up is seen as a feminine thing which makes them try to look pretty. If a man wore it, I would think they are getting in touch with their feminine side but it is their choice and if they are happy with wearing it I have no problem.
    Hi

    Wow, it's been a while.
