Ah cool, I might apply now
Having to change my name did make me reluctant to apply to that position. I'm sure there's a lot of other people who are the same; not wanting to apply for a job because they don't want to change their name.
used to fix usertitles n stuff

This basically. Recently there have been numerous cases of non-staff members holding giveaways/events (that don't actually give out prizes). This is generally okay as it's easilynoticeableto anyone in the community that they aren't EOs because they're not in the staff list. Conversely there have been cases where trialist event organisers have been accused of holding fake hx events because they're new and not well known to the wider community where it's been easily checked via the staff list/events listthat it is anactual genuine EO/event.I think the original reason for having the names the same was that they were clearly identifiable as being staff on the forum and this could be checked. It would be very confusing for everyone including management and supervising staff as names could be changed on habbo on a regular basis and no-one would know who was who. The other reason was that anybody could claim to be Habbox staff and use this to scam including the occasional 'rogue' member of staff without being easily identified. Kyle, is their any combination of Kyle available?
In my opinion, the community departments should have their names the same as their forum names (including the comps dept, no idea why this was changed or when lol hope it wasn't when I was manager or I'd have missed that memo) because to do their job most effectively they should be using Habbo. That does not necessarily mean that it's needed per se (forexample comps staff)but it is definitely helpful to increase your activity within the Habbo community. Using the comps example as it's one I'm most familiar with butit was clear to me during management that those withhigher entries were those who had a wider participation on Habbo andif the latter slipped (they moved ontoother games, didn't play habbo so much for whatever reason)so did the entries. I do not seewhy this principle can not be extended to rare values (wider participation with traders) or any other community department.
I find it stupid having to have matching names just because of your job here.
Why don't you just have something in your usertitle clearly stating your Habbo username.![]()
Or, add "Habbo Name" in here;
http://www.habboxforum.com/showgroups.phpS
So when people check the staff list they can find the habbo names just as fast as the usernames
Exactly what I was about to say.
If you have your habbo username in the 'About Me' section, where people can see it in posts, or in your usertitle or signature, I don't really see the problem.
If this rule wasn't in place, I would've signed up to the forum with a more decenter name..![]()
You can sign up to the forum with any available name, it doesn't have to be your Habbo name. It gets changed to your Habbo name if it isn't already when you join one of the community based departments.Exactly what I was about to say.

Yes, I know.
What I meant was - I knew the rule was community staff have to have the same username as on habbo.
I knew I was going to apply for Competitions and HxHD, so I spared them the trouble of changing it.
