Just BY CHANCE that he asked him about the story behind the song, which gave it the big build up...

But when it is live
Ant and Dec will have guidance on what to say but maybe not word for word and even when it's edited they need to ensure that there isn't too much dialogue and stuff because they still have to stick to a time limit.

I kind of agree with you. However there is a big problem with X Factor that Britain's Got Talent doesn't have: Originally Posted by Ambzz.
The X Factor is basically come on and sing all these different covers and so on. Occasionally you get a singer playing with a guitar. However Britain's Got Talent allows actual musicians coming on playing instruments, bands to and on top of that they can play their own stuff.
I'd maybe like the X Factor more if it allowed them to actually try and be unique and their own person instead of asking them to cover song after song. Maybe all the acts they produced that have failed wouldn't have if they actually put some song writing sessions into the show
