You need to like base said be skulled when you talk to the herald to get your family crest, i think its a few k in gp to switch. But then you also need to have a
certain construction level have to workshop little place to paint your rune sheild, rune full helm, or get a banner. I am not sure of the exact level or name of the workbench thing you need to make, but you know what i am saying lols

oh how u get skull on shield

You need to have 16+ construction and be skulled while talking to the herald. It's 5K to switch your family crest if you already have one. Then you need 41 construction to build a shield thing at your house, and you need to have 43 crafting to paint your family crest on the kiteshield. You can do it to helms and make banners at 66 construction & 48 crafting aswell.
