I'm talking about Britain on it's own. If it was just America and Britain, and only Americans in America and only Britons in Britain, America would win.But you fail to see that Britain is allied with Europe with the EU? They would go to war to preserve the peace, which this made up War Hungry America seems to not like? Even if Britain was blown to bits, if other countries stopped America, then Britiain will still have won because they were apart of that war. Then you have to remember that a large number of the US has residents with some British, French, Russian, Scottish, Italian, Spanish background so a civil war would be possible.
i lol when you guys try to have an american accent. Hugh Laurie is the only british person I can think of who has an amazing american accent. hell, he sounds more american than me.
Your still ignoring the most important factor, the Uk and US are nuclear powers. Nether country could invade the other successfully without incurring nuclear wrath from the other. It doesn't really matter how big a country is, once its been destroyed once, its ****ed, the fact the US could desroy the uk more times than the Uk could destroy the us therefor isnt really an advantage.
Also note, even if somhow the US could destroy Britain before it launched a nuclear strike, Britain's nuclear power comes from off shore submarine so the US would be equally ******.
Same but opposite. Everyone over does the "pip pip, cheerio." The guy from desperate housewives had a horrible accent. Let me see... Ah here it is.

Don't forget we have Mr.Bean to defend us and he already convinced the Americans a Poster is the famous Whistlers Mother Portrait
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.
Gomme: The EU doesn't bind us into any kind of military alliance - they didn't have to go to Iraq with us did they? I'm not saying the other EU nations wouldn't disagree with an attack on Britain but i don't think we'd have their support militarily.
Despite starting quite an interesting discussion, i do think this is a bit of a silly thread.
Even more silly are the assumptions/generalisations about the intelligence of members of either country - All Americans arn't stupid; we both have our share of dim people. Equally, it's not like everyone in Britain is the next Brunel or Shakespeare or whatever.
In the end i don't think that anyone can deny that the US would have far more manpower and resources and would therefore be likely to win any kind of conflict.
In answer to the original question though, all other opinions i may have about the reasons at the time aside, i'd want Britain to win.
