Lol. Nah. Wont smoke. I hate those scientists and people who try to explain reasons why teens smoke. Like "They are under stress" or "They are depressed". No, Im sorry but the reason is because they think its cool. Only reason. People like to think its deeper, but oh how they are mistaken. There are a lot of kids in my school who smoke, and one this kid's arguments was he didnt want to be old. Lol. I said there are other ways to kill yourself that are faster, more cost efficiant, and wont make you get old faster. *Cough*Owned*Cough*. Lol.
I love those "truth" commercials though. The ones with the fake TV show about the ciggarette company, and they are trying to figure out ways to lure in the youth. And people start saying stuff like "Bright colors" or "Cover is with a candy coating", and the audience is laughing in the back. And at the end it says: It would be funnier if it wasen't true. Cracked me up first time I saw it.

On the first point, the depressed biut are corect as there the root cause, aka why the people want to be "cool" to start with, due to the fact they dont feel they fit in normaly, and are unhappy just being then, so i woulnt make it completly incorrect

your paying money to harm your self some people dont care so thats the same as saying "Yay i wona die lets all pay money for sigerets and kill ouer selfs lets harm ouer body"

I've smoked for 6 years, I'm athletic, and posts like above really stereotype smokers. Everyone smokes for their own reason, not just to "Be Cool", contrary to popular belief.
And I started at 12 when I was extremely depressed, and it helped a great amount, but the damage is starting to show itself, and I have been trying to stop to try to enjoy life more.
My advice to Non-Smokers: Stop making smokers seem like such evil people!
And to Kids who haven't tried it: Don't try it.

You've never smoked, so how would you know why kids start? Unless you've lives in every smoker shoe's every moment of their life?
How do you know these kids aren't abused, or lonely, or need an outlet to escape to?

My friend has been very, very depressed for 2 years, and when I asked her if she'd ever resort to smoking, she said it would just become another problem when she wanted to give up, I have been depressed before, and I would never ever have thought about smoking just to make me feel better, I would have probably ended up wasting money on cigarettes and get even more miserable

And to be honest, every smoker I know did it to be "cool", I'm not saying you did, and I know smokers arn't evil people, some of my family smoke and they definately arn't evil, no-one makes out smokers are evil, just a little stupid, to waste money of cigarettes just to fit in.
