Ok people I'm going to give this thread a chance to turn itself around before it gets closed because of it losing its topic.
I am directing this comment to both DJs and Forum users who have turned this thread from a constructive way of getting feedback from the forum visitors, to a total slanging match about why each persons points are invalid o.O.
As far as I know the layout had no font problems, but I'd be more than happy to correct them if somebody was to PM me the pages, and locations of the issues. The "new" layout was a play on how Habbox used to be since so many people used to love the old Habbox style, we thought we might try and appeal to some of our older listeners, while giving out new listeners an insight into how things used to be.
With regards to music, the swearing policy will not be lifted while I am in charge, and probably not until long after I'm gone. Many people go on about some swear words being allowed, but in actual fact it is too indescriminate and confusing for DJs, since we would be saying "yes some swearing is allowed", but then they would receive a written warning later on because they played a word which is unacceptable. A no swearing policy prevents confusion.
With regards to music genre, alot of our forum users tend to act on the stereotypes of other users; for instance, I hear all the time about how HabboxLive plays too much rock and heavy metal, when I haven't got a clue how that one started. If anything, we don't play enough heavy metal, and generally tend to pleasing our indie/R+B listeners, with the occasional bit of rap or rock thrown in. Or maybe I've been listening to the wrong station for the past year.
Yes, HabboxLive has a group of staff who ar every close and get along extremely well together; some listeners also fall in with this group and it brings an extremely friendly atmosphere to party rooms for other listeners (mainly at my expense since they are intent on taking the mickey out of me). New DJs are always welcomed into this little "fold" with open arms as far as I'm concerned, and it encourages people to come out of themselves and get involved with the team as a whole, rather than just keep themselves to themselves. I am all for this type of teamwork and have encouraged a large friendship group in HabboxLive ever since I was a mere Head DJ. It helps trialists get more involved and pick up tips and hints and help on how to progress their work, it lets listeners feel part of something, and creates a listener-DJ link.
Let it be known that nowhere in my managing experience at HabboxLive, has it's little group ever have been known by me to have bullied or intimidated any member of the team. New staff have the opportunity to join in socially if they wish, or just get on with the job, much like the real world. The main focus of the group is in HabboxLive party rooms, and in the staff forums, however you may often also see things escalate a little further when one staff member is in some sort of argument, at which point one of the management step in where we can and sort it.
Clearly some DJs don't like to be told how to do things, by forum users, and some forum users don't like to post constructively. And for it then to escalate to "you're immature", "no, you're immature" is just plain ridiculous.
So, can we have some posting in the form of constructive criticism, as was asked for in the initial post, please? If not, then the thread can just be closed.
Constructive criticism will work in the way of:
- Offering generalisations of music that you like to hear, so DJs can work on moulding their shows to fit the majority of needs. It is often better if you name an artist that defines that specific style of music, so that there is no confusion. For instance, The Kooks define a lot of the indie genre etc..
- Offer specific improvements to the website, with references to pages and content that have errors, need to be improved, and/or why you think so.
- Giving your thoughts on HabboxLive policies in a positive way and saying not only how you think they should be improved, but why, and how it will benefit listeners and DJs. It doesn't take much to say "this is rubbish", but it is the sign of a more mature individual to be able to say "I think this isn't working well, because... and it could be improved like this... which would benefit other people in this way...".
So by all means, raise your points, but raise them in a non-confrontational way, since this thread is for the benefit of everybody concerned, and for it to be closed because of it going off topic, would just be a waste of effort for those who are actually bothered about how we can improve. <---- That is directed at everybody.

That's called having friends. If I thought it was meant groups in that way I really wouldn't of asked the question. We don't tell people to "get lost" etc just we get on. New people are always coming in and are welcomed into that "group". We DJ, they're our dedicated listeners. The thing about HxL is everyone gets along, in the staff department I'm talking about, so well infact which is what keeps so many of us here so long. The relationship with the listeners is so good as well. That in my opinion is one of the best things about HxL and not many other sites have that.
Hmm we try so hard to play a variety of music and there's always critisizm that we either play "too much hard rock", "too much dance" or "crap like the vengaboys". It is impossible to please everyone at the same time. Also we try our best to play the songs that the listeners request so yeah if there's something you want to hear, like I said before the DJ will most likely try and get it.
Also Adam, good essay :]

Jess you wouldnt play that music as nearlly all Jeffree Star music is sexual in certain ways and Hollywood Undead's is swearing, so is The Medic Droid. :] Young Love is clean
They all have myspace too![]()
Realised what? Which one did you listen to, lol
Yes, we do have "groups" with DJs, and dedicated listeners, but we don't do it to intimidate or bully anyone, or to act "snobby" to other DJs/listeners/other users. It is as simple as the fact we are close to certain DJs, and close to certain listeners. Like Adzeh said, new DJs / listeners are welcomed, and are completely welcome to join the so called "group" we have.
I'm sure in other departments you have little groups where users are close.
As for things not being played, we get people complaining that there is not enough of anything being played. Sometimes people will complain about the amount of rock, dance, pop, R&B, metal, ANYTHING. You just all seem to tune in at the wrong time.
The only genre I have noticed that isn't being played that much is older music from 80's/90's. And we are in the middle of sorting that out.

I hate 80's music tbh [:
Bring back the rock and indie shows, at the moment the radio caters to the mainly the mainstream popular music fans and it isnt really that good to be honest, The old classics are never ever played anymore, wee bit of blondie or some acdc, or new stuff like get cape or the wombats, need to cater for everyone i guess.
