    I think jumping forces your body down through your legs when you hit the bottom, not very nice.

    Well I guess it kinda makes sense, I think what would kill you would be the vibrations through the elevator when it hits (unless you're falling from like, the 100th floor, then I think you'd just be squished regardless of what you do), so I guess it makes sense to get away from them.

    But you'd have to time it perfectly, and be in the air for some time.

    Who knows... personally I don't want to test it out.
