Why Russia? The question is about defending their homeland not about the strongest army, nuke's are surely irrelevant if your defending your own country, that would be classed as attacking in the opponents country. Russia is the largest country on Earth easily by landmass. As your all saying, China's army is hugeeeee, surely if they took Russia from all angles that'd be rather easy, the bigger the country, the easier to invade?
America, Israel and UK would be my top three in defending.

lmao do none of you know your history? japan hasn't had an army since the end of world war two ... they're not allowed to have one as set out in the postwar treaties and agreements.

Previously mentioned, but I think that
Russia, America, China - the whole of china are pretty threatening, but mainly because they're... huge and they're like little soldier fish; territorial as shiz.
I'd love to say Australia, but i'd be fooling no one.
