I've heard speculation about the series ending soon. Any ideas on this. How long do you think it will go on for?

thats rubbish. Naruto and bleach mayb but thats because they are running out of ideas..

OP past the half way mark last year according to oda. so if thats the case the manga has another 11 years to go. if we are lucky.

SH's got to the red line which is the half way point in the grand line and the current arc is happening now.

And even if the manga finished in say 5 years. Toei would do a DBGT no doubt because OP is the cash cow in japan like DB was. the only thing is the OP fillers will actually be good since they can work. Lots of filler islands. i can see toei doing that anyway. fillers for a bit before doing the ending.

Can't see them making a seperate series.. but hopefully the continue to make the movies.

How far ahead in terms of episodes would the manga be ahead. I know stuff like Gintama where the anime was always 10 chapters behind the manga.

Also, I was looking on OP Wiki and saw that they recruit a Medic called Chopper. His bounty is 50 beli lol

the manga and anime are pretty close but toei are clever. while naruto for example may cover 2-3 chapters worth some episodes toei sometimes only cover half a chapter or 1 chapter. so they like to drag some thigns out. but not in a bad way they expand on scenes etc so if someone is mentioned in the manga sometimes they will animate it to make up time. Also they add in decent fillers and canon fillers ( cover storys )

Also shh choppers bounty is spoiler. all the strawhats arent really spoiler since obv ive had sigs and stuff but bountys are D: dont ruin OP for other people.

And for anyone that was intrested the OVA which was comming in a cd as a freebie someone uploaded it but subs arent english and it sjust clips. prettty lame. anyway if u wanna watch
