Yes but then again in the 70th min, a Fresh Walcott needs 1 killer pass and he's off. He doesn't need to work the RW all of the time. Through the middle he can do the same job. Besides, his finishing is actually better than Lennons and SWP's imo. His crossing is poor yes but he should be used not for crossing.

There was no killer pass, there hasn't been one in the past 2 games. Lennon can do exactly the same job as Walcott.

That's the thing. England has no killer pass.

Everyone goes on about how individual players play better for their clubs. I'm sure it would help if players played in the same position, in the same way as they do for their clubs.

I'd have taken Lennon and Walcott. Lennon to start, Walcott to bring on. Walcott against a tired defence is a game killer. And we have Gerrard and Rooney who can find killer passes when needed, the problem is both weren't on it for this game. But even if you just slide it in for Walcott or even a misplaced pass, Walcott can chase it and more times than not he will get it.

England has three players that have killer passes, Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard. The problem is our wingers haven't - they haven't got a brain in their head and they're to fast for their own good (SWP, Lennon), we should have taken Walcott and A. Johnson, A. Johnson could have been a big hit for us in this world cup, but our 'manager' didn't even try it in the warm ups..

No, the problem is they're not receiving the ball early enough/ atall. Johnson, Lennon, SWP and Walcott would all be experiencing the same problems.

True. Either Capello changes formation, or he drops Lampard. In this interview after the game he hinted that he will change his formation, maybe now he is actually realising that 4-4-2 with Gerrard on the left just won't work, ever.

England will be a far better side playing 4-5-1/4-2-3-1 IMHO:

    Hart (most in-form)

    Johnson -- Terry -- King/Upson/Carra -- A. Cole

    Lampard -- Barry

    Lennon ------ Gerrard ------ J. Cole

    Rooney

I'm gona have to say, Gerrard and Lampard have to switch in your formation. Lampard can't tackle, and his passing isn't amazing although it isn't bad. Gerrard can tackle more and he can also pass better than Lampard. Lampard can turn up in the box at the right time, and can shoot so he should be higher up imo.

Saying that, Gerrard and Rooney link well together so it's a tricky one.

Well either Lampard goes CDM or he gets dropped. Gerrard and Rooney must be playing in free-ish roles, they are our best players and can win games on their own if given license. If Lampard fails at CDM then just play Carrick (shudder) & Barry, or even Milner in Carrick's position.
