- Newcastle forced to draw 1-1 with Lillestrom (Norwegian) in the first leg of their Intertoto Cup 3rd round..
- Man Utd cruise to a 4-0 win over the Orlando Pirates in their first friendly..
- Juventus, Lazio and and Fiorentina have all received a punishment of being relegated to Serie B for their match-fixing plot. Juventus have been stripped of their last 2 Serie A titles, been fined £50,000 and have been handed a 30 POINT-DEDUCTION for next season!
