So your saying, if we want one single rep removed u can go and remove more? That's stupid, because someone -repped me saying "No, i'm alright thanks. & the thing is, if you report this rep, all of your other rep will get removed by Nick. " and it's pointless but i don't want to report it because more than that one will be removed o_O CHANGE THE RULES

The Rules have not changed recently, pointless reputation has been against the Rules for a long time and the right to reverse pointless +rep has been in place for quite some time as stated in large blue text in the report rep thread.
The Rule that the Reputation Editor has the right to check through all of your reputation when you report a -rep is not new, I'm just enforcing it a lot more than previous Editors as a result of a substantial crackdown on pointless reputation. When you receive a -rep you have 2 choices: stick with it, don't report it and don't risk getting all pointless reputation removed or report it, have the chance to get the rep removed and risk losing all pointless reputation you have received in the last month.
It's a risk you have to take if you know you're right and are guaranteed to get the -rep removed (judging by the sound of the comment it sounds a little unfair), a certain few users have already bitten the bullet and reported -rep when they know they may have +rep removed too, once I remove the +rep they have nothing to worry about as they've lost the majority of pointless reputation from the previous month already.

Note: I would just like to emphasise that I only go through the last month of received reputation, it's unfair for me to go through reputation gained over a month ago.

If you get a 1-rep which takes of 1 rep but in the same week got 250+ pointless +reps then it's quite obvious your gunna get it removed so just think about it.

i was complaining for a short while because mine was removed with no prior warning despite me reporting NONE to be removed.

to put it simply, i dont understand why it is against the rules because no other forums have rules regarding reputation, and some even promote giving reputation at every possible chance.

im not saying this forum should be like that, but there should be no rule on giving what you call 'pointless reputation' as this is the only forum that ive ever seen which has been this tight on the reputation system. theres no need.

In my opinion, reputation should be given with a stated and fair reason, but I'm not going to bother if someone gave me good rep with no reason stated. If it's the rules then it is something we just have to abide by, it's up the management on how the rules go. If that is what Nick has been instructed to enforce then that is his job. That's fine.
