Dropping Green was just stupid. If he had started today at least he would have been able to put last week's events behind him but now he's been told to sit out so if he is ever put back in later on in the tournament he'll have this huge stigma and just won't be able to perform well at all. Capello has basically shortened his squad and only has two keepers to use. In the unlikely event of James and Hart both picking up injuries, Green will be like jelly out there.

Once again best chances came from Gerrard and Heskey. Dunno who that Rooney person is

I am actually starting to dislike Capello, he does most things right, but does two fundamental things wrong:

1. Doesn't tell the squad who's playing until 2 HOURS before a game? that's not good, especially for the goalkeeper
2. Plays all the superstars, he has to be ruthless and drop someone if they don't fit into the formation that he wants

England should play 4-5-1, or it's other variants (4-2-3-1, 4-3-3), if we do not we are ******. We have the PERFECT squad to play this formation and the team will obviously play a lot better if they're playing in a formation that they trust.

In Capello I still trust, I just really hope he choses the correct formation from now on, and I think that he will.

absolutely awful performance no one showed heart or determination no one seemed bothered enough to take the game by the scruff of the neck and try to spur the team on. we need JT back as captain, he has the most heart and can spur the team on. we didnt even create one proper chance against algeria yikes.

Bloody good point, in my opinion.

If anything the team need the nation behind them now. We messed up, yeah, but there is still Wednesday's game in which I think we all hope to see a massive improvement. It annoys me that the England team and it's players can so quickly fall from favour for a couple of average performances. That's life, that's football.

The performance last night was poor, no denying it. No one seemed to have any energy (apart from the odd burst here and there) and the whole team felt subdued. Rooney in particular looked tired and as if he wanted to be elsewhere. Capello really needs to sort it out, clearly there's some kind of unhappiness in the team and it is up to him to start making those players believe in themselves because I don't think anyone was feeling it last night.

appaling performance from england, these are players worth millions of pounds who were playing against a team who haven't qualified for the world cup in 24 years.. shocking. if you put people in the squad who would put 100% effort in and who were happy to be paid a fraction of what the normal england players get then even then they'd still produce a better result.
