I don't think there is anything at all for you to worry about! My personal opinion on this is that if the world was to be ending next year then scientists and specialists would be researching into it a lot more, and there would be much more attention from governments, the media etc.

I agree here! Everyone would know about it and it would be taken to a larger scale.
