why is it hosted on hx servers though, does it have something to do with jin or what?
well interested to see if he's being paid by them or if he's randomly giving out free hosting or what![]()
I'm quite happy to have the adverts on the top of the page- but is it worth it, in terms of the potential new members we'd lose? (or not gain if you see what I mean)
Surely it would be better to try and pull more new members in and encourage them to donate as a) it will surely make more money, and b) it'll increase activity rather than possibly decrease it.
If I was a new user with adblock coming to this site for the first time and I was redirected to a site basically saying unblock the ads on habbox or bugger off, I'd bugger off![]()
used to fix usertitles n stuff

I can agree with a lot of the posts in here, I'm not sure this is going to be helpful for new members.. I know that for one if I was new to a forum and got stuck in this loop-ness then I'd give up trying to sign up, especially if I'm not technologically minded lol.
Perhaps just a little notice which appears once and says 'hey, by doing this bla bla you're helping towards the running costs of our fabulous fan site, thanks', a bit like a forum notice..?
drink up this bottle of yeah
and P A I N T your body on me
as would majority of people coming to the site.
So it's basically going to be a case of;
Users who block ads - come on the site, be redirected and not bother coming back
User who don't block ads - come on the site, do as they usually do.
So the only result from this is going to be those who do block ads won't bother coming back limiting the newcomers and getting no more revenue from ads than previously.
Regarding the current members they're going to simply use another method to block adverts if they wished to block ads in the first place, if not then they'll do as they usually do, again resulting in no change
So overall you're losing out on potential newcomers and maybe seeing a few extra pence from miss clicks.

could just detect if the ads loaded, if not create a div where there would usually be one saying please disable it.I can agree with a lot of the posts in here, I'm not sure this is going to be helpful for new members.. and disable this for vips as we're already paying
I definitely think it's wise to start pushing Donation subscriptions a lot more, I can imagine just one £1.50 payment is more than you'll get from the average member in several months.
We could start with the Wikipedia approach:
P.S. WHO CHANGED MY USERTITLE TO MEOW. I'M LOOKING AT YOU GARNER
