I gave Matt a MySQL query that should add the posts from the past few days onto it.

To be honest I don't even know what my post count was before so I'm not entirely fussed. Its a pain for you guys with high post counts but hopefully Matt or Jin will get it sorted soon :p

did posts actually get deleted or is it just a problem with post count displaying?
surely can be edited manually for all who are bothered

Matt triggered a post recount in the VB control panel. For a variety of reasons certain posts over the years have been pruned or deleted. In addition some forums will have had post count disabled after a period of being enabled which unlike moving threads did not remove post counts (Notably the forum games forum which I think accounts for most of my drop in posts). As a result the post count of most people went down.

I'm trying to think where I lost my thousand or so... Maybe seasonal forums?

In a way, this just shows the 'proper' post count I suppose, after rule changes over the years has adjusted our post count.
