    Default DVD Drive Help

Im having quite a few problems with my DVD drive.

It started about 3 months ago when i bought a new dvd (driving test success). i inserted it into the computer and it would not play. So i thought must be the DVD thats the problem and just sent it back.

3 Months down the line and i decided to buy L4D2, i inserted it into my dvd drive and the same thing happened. so i bought a new DVD drive and installed that and tried again. Low and behold the same thing happened.

Ive uninstalled the dvd driver and re-installed it, ive cleared the upper and lower filters and ive checked my computer for starforce but it isnt present. My computer recognizes that there is a DVD drive there but it just wont play any kind of "new dvd" that goes into it.

It does however play DVD games like battlefield 2142 etc but just not up to date games.

Does anyone have any idea what could possibly be wrong?

Btw im running on Windows 7 64bit if that helps. thanks

Can you browse the files that are on the disc?

No, i cant even click on the disc itself or even right click it in my computer as when i do, my computer just freezes so i have to ctrl + alt + delete and wait about 5min for windows to be restored.
