Pretty sad about that luging death... just hours before the ceremony starts aswell. R.I.P.
However, I watch the winter olympics far more than I do the regular olympics. I love the snow lol.

They've had to get loads of artificial snow in lolthey've had huge problems with the weather though. been raining and too hot but they were clever and stockpiled a load just incase something happened so they just brought it down from higher ground.
hope it isn't going to be late all the time. i'm guessing not but skiing and such is possible at night.
Prefer the winter to the summer.
Gonna be watching most of it next week as I'm off.
Anyone hear about the luge athlete who died on a test run?

.
I thought it wasn't artificial, just snow from a different place. Was airlifted wasn't it?
I don't think there would be any point moving real snow because if it's too warm for it to snow, then it would just melt anyway.
the luger's crash was bad like. slammed into a metal girder head first.
RIP
pretty sure they used real snow. Might be wrong but found numerous sources.Trucking in snow from another town doesn't fit neatly into the green theme, but it seems there's little choice — unless athletes are prepared to snowboard on grass.
Not sure why tho. I suppose they just keep using real snow as it's a lot better than artificial
