Dominic Cummings forced out as PM's Chief Advisor

Follows power clash between Dominic Cummings and PM's girlfriend Carrie Symonds

The Prime Minister's partner, reportedly referred to as 'Princess Nut Nuts' behind her back by Vote Leave loyalists put out by her burgeoning power, is said to have been the driving force behind the senior adviser's dramatic exit last night.

Mr Johnson is understood to have ordered his once-trusted aide to leave having shown him incriminating text messages which had been forwarded to Ms Symonds, though these claims were denied by No10.

While Mr Cummings was set to leave at Christmas, it is understood it was Ms Symonds, who sources say regularly 'bombards' her fiance with as many as 25 texts an hour expressing her thoughts on policy, that convinced the PM he and former director of communications Lee Cain had to go.

However, those close to Mr Johnson are now fearing a backlash from the exiled adviser could see Downing Street come under fire.

'I won't be surprised if there's an explosive stunt between now and Christmas,' sources told the FT. 'It's not Dom's style just to quietly drift away.'

Mr Cummings left his north London home on Saturday afternoon but only spoke to reporters to ask them to move out of his way, and did not answer any questions.

He was seen getting into a Toyota Prius which drove away from the scene.

The adviser departed Government with a parting swipe at the PM, telling allies Mr Johnson is 'indecisive' and that it was often left to senior minister Michael Gove to fill the leadership vacuum, according to the Telegraph.

Former Brexit secretary David Davis told BBC Breakfast this morning many within No 10 had 'turned on' Mr Cummings.

He said: 'It is said... people ranging from Allegra (Stratton) - the new spokesman for the Prime Minister - right through to his (Mr Johnson's) fiancee, Carrie, turned against him.

'The relationship with the Prime Minister fell off a cliff. And once that's gone, it's gone.'

If I were a Tory MP I would probably be putting in a letter to remove Boris as PM now, or certainly on the verge of doing so.

His second lockdown in vain to stop a virus that cannot be stopped which will cost millions of jobs, his climate change-obsessed girlfriend now seemingly controlling policy all while immigrants flood across the English channel. And will we be sold out over Brexit? That remains to be seen, although thankfully Lord Frost is still in control of the negotiations and not Carrie Symonds. I'm increasingly disappointed with his premiership, and the exit of Cummings who brought discipline and an actual agenda to Number 10 will hasten the decline in my view.

If there's a sell out over Brexit, expect the PM to be gone next year is my bet.

    Thoughts?

Better unelected bureaucrats than an unelected girlfriend and a pussy whipped PM.

Michael Gove's wife Sarah Vine has written a column for the Mail on Sunday lamenting his loss to Number 10...

Expect any Gove-led Number 10 to have Cummings back within the fold.
