Sure, it makes no difference to pre-meditated. But I am willing to bet that a number of sexual assaults are done while drunk.

Annoyed that this is yet another "let's protect women from the inevitability of men's behaviour" rather than "let's stop men raping women"

Don't give me a sanctuary where I can run to escape danger, give me an actively anti-rape culture.

Government working to stop people being violent and inhumane requires effort, challenging the Eton Boy's Club mentality, investment in education, and brings the risk of failure. Blaming the sign on a door is a cheap and easy way of doing bugger all of use while getting to claim that they're taking action, with the added bonus of getting to do more damage to a minority group that they don't like. Big wins!

Nice utopian thinking there. Meanwhile, in the real world...

Reminds me of when people say "lets make every comprehensive school a good school" and it's just like oh come on.

It isn't a case of not liking a minority group. I couldn't care less whether people chop/add bits onto themselves - but society ought not to be warped around their illness. I am amazed that they can now apply to have their birth certificates changed to wipe away the actual truth. If anyone else did such a thing on official forms, they would be done for fraud - but transgenders and the government itself get away with it.

Call yourself whatever you want, wear whatever you want and pretend to be whatever you want. But don't drag an unwilling society and the truth along into it.

So we shouldn't bother trying to make change for the better ever because that's just playing silly buggers, instead we should just carry on making policies that have absolutely no positive impact for the sake of having a headline to pop into a report on how well we're all doing and what cracking actions we've put in place, well done old boy wot wot.

Also congratulations on ignoring a whole bunch of very valid points and the larger overall point to focus on a part that you've somehow perceived to be a personal attack, despite you (as far as I know) not being the government official body that's decided on this

Please do educate me but I don't see how it's a reason to celebrate. Being a teacher, I'd have thought that inclusivity would be on the top of your agenda, and this isn't in any shape inclusive. Soon you'll be advocating for separate toilets based on sexuality, it's just not necessary. There's a very low chance of someone dressing as Mrs Doubtfire to attack someone, as Tom said, a sign on the door won't stop a monster. If anything it will cause more issues, I can only imagine the abuse a trans girl would get having to use the men's toilets because unfortunately society isn't nice.
