My favourite living chef, Marco Pierre White, had dinner with Nigel Farage and Aaron Banks a couple of days ago.

He's endorsed Banks for the mayoralty race he's running in.

Opinion poll out tonight giving Reform one of their best polls ever. Polls open 7am tommorrow morning!

It's worth remembering that the Tories will do better than the national polls in these Local Elections, as more of the council seats up for grabs are in southern shire areas where the Conservatives are strongest. So that will make it look better for them when we get the results in.

It's been a stunning day for Reform who've exceeded polling expectations.

There's still some counting going on but they've picked up an MP in Runcorn, nearly 700 councillors and full control of several councils.

Baxter for BBC and Sky has translated the results today into what it equates to at national level in % terms.

And here's some of the more dramatic results from today....

    Just taken another council.

    All councils now counted.

Remarkable to think that Reform were hopeful they could possibly secure one or two councils... now they control 10.

A lad from my course when I was at university ten years ago messaged me on Instagram... he was always left-wing, a member of the Labour Party and moved to London etc. Anyway, he's originally from Cheshire where his family all are, he told me everyone he knows back home have all switched to Reform, and he's considering switching but he's just waiitng to judge the next budget on whether he will.

I'm increasingly getting vibes of 2016 in the run up to the referendum where old party allegiances started collapsing en masse. Go back further and this trend started in Scotland in 2011 too with the collapse of Labour in areas in Glasgow (was once unthinkable). The moment that stuck out to me yesterday was this; Durham County Council. Durham was rock solid Labour for over a century, and was the heart of the coal mining industry (the annual Durham Miners Gala) - because of the political effects of Brexit, Labour lost control of the council in 2021 but retained largest party status.

Here's Durham County Council today. Labour reduced to 4 seats out of 98.

And he's a geographical map of what the English countries that voted yesterday look like now.

As someone who WANTS to vote for Labour (I didn't in these locals), it baffles me how tone deaf this administration seems to be.

I'm not denying that 14 years of a Tory government haven't led to difficult decisions having to be made, that's probably obvious. But to look at the losses Labour have had (from a position of a Tory high in 2021 in the first place) and respond with "the same, but faster" is so disappointing to hear.

I hope the direction changes before the next GE... but I doubt it will lol

Absolutely right, love to see it.

No more trans flags, LGBTQTXZ flags, the Ukraine flag, the Palestinian flag and whatever else is flavour of the month.

They've also stated they're going to use every power possible to stop illegal immigrants being settled in Reform controlled areas. Bang on.
