Does any one know a script so u can host a Search engine a small one so you can search it and u click search and a small lsit comes up?
i know how to get one if u have cpanel; just to search your site

I don't want it so it only searches my site i want it so if u type somthing in like: Habbox it appears as:
[Banner here]
------------------------
HabboxForum.com
blahblah blah
etc etc./

Do you mean so you advertise it on e.g google.
or you want a google search banner on your site?

my own search engine like google or yahoo etc.
so you can add the sites and when ppl search it it comes up like googles but with a diff banner etc.
some 1 made somthing like this before on here.

You'll never be able to compete, unless you buy huge servers and create a spider algorithim, but with a lot of work you could make a small scale thing.
Using the Google API you can make one that searches the Google database :)
You don't really need any skills to do the search (www.tim-rogers.co.uk/search is mine) but to make it look half decent you need real skills in PHP and web design :P

yeh i want it so it goes kinda like tims but instead i can add the websites etc.
Lol noob. Its a big thing setting up your own search site. You will need a dedicated Database server with a hell of alot of space to start off with ''/

You could search websites for strings of text with the eregi function in PHP.
It would be somthing similar to:
eregi($search, $lines, $result);
